Hi there! I am David, an enthusiastic and fully-qualified English Teacher with QTS. I have worked in mainstream schools and have spent almost nine years in alternative provision, teaching and tutoring young people who have found it hard to access mainstream education, helping them overcome their obstacles and manage their needs. As such, I have extensive experience in working with young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) as well as Special Educational Needs, including autism, anxiety, depression, as well as other behavioural and language needs.

      I have taught across the Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 (GCSE) and Key Stage 5 (A-Level) curriculum in English Language and English Literature, as well as teaching Maths (KS3-4), Science (KS3-4), Sociology (KS4-5), History (KS3-5) and Philosophy (KS5).

      I have worked with pupils considering their next steps both at 16 and 18, and have experience writing and supporting applications for next steps, be they for college, vocational courses, or university.

      I also have experience working with adult learners and can offer support with honing essays and other writing for university students and beyond.
