I have been teaching in secondary schools since 2018, teaching GCSE and A Level English in a Catholic grammar school, alongside tutoring. I worked as a Teaching Assistant for a number of years before that, working 1:1 with students with special educational needs (SEN) and behavioural problems. I have marked for AQA, marking GCSE English Language Paper 1 and 2, so I have insight into the marking process and how to achieve highly in the exam. I have a fully-enhanced DBS check.

I have tutored GCSE students as well as primary school students taking entrance exams.

My degree is in English Literature, but I have taught A Level English Language and Literature for 7 years now. One of my specialisms at University was Creative Writing. I also teach KS3 Drama. I have A Levels in English, Maths and Biology and an AS Level in Chemistry.

I welcome all different types of learners and from all age groups.

Availability: I can work most weekdays after school and most evenings. I can work some weekends but this can change. I have much more flexibility/availability for online lessons.

Experience: I have experience working in primary schools as far back as 2012. I continued this throughout my time at University, working with primary school children. I also volunteered with young children with disabilities in 2012.

I worked as a cover teacher in a challenging school in 2018, alongside my experience as a Teaching Assistant.

I have taught the AQA specification GCSE and A Level English for 7 years.
