Information about Daniel

Hello,

My name is Daniel, a Native English Teacher from South East England - Pleased to meet you!

> Allow me in helping you to succeed with your IELTS ambitions. I will focus on getting you well-prepared and confident prior to your exam so that you can be in the best state of mind possible and with the knowledge required, for reaching the band score that you need. As well as offering a Preparation for IELTS service, I can also provide Business English, General English and Conversation English style classes.

> I’ve been both a Private IELTS Teacher and an IELTS Examinations Trainer and Employee for British Council affiliated Universities and Language Schools, for 5 years now. During this time I have also taught both Business English at a certified Language School and TEFL level English. My teaching experience until now has encompassed teaching in England and also in Peru, as well as to students of various countries worldwide via online video call software.

> I offer 1 to 1 online sessions, using video call software like Zoom and Skype (others if required). In some circumstances it may be possible to have one further student of an equivalent level for a further £10 more than the lesson price. Lessons are normally 60 minutes but alternative lengths of lesson may be possible, if required, depending on individual circumstances.

> Before any formal lessons, you`ll be able to have a free and no obligation initial consultation (Roughly 15 minutes) via Zoom or similar platform. This will be a chance for you to ask me any questions you may have and we would also discuss your individual requirements for your English Learning journey. If you would like to take lessons, then I would offer you a price and arrange how you would like to pay - lesson by lesson, monthly or in longer blocks.

> My prices start at £30 per 60 minute lesson (including the sending of additional materials and resources to aid your learning) lowering to £25 per lesson for block bookings of 8 lessons or more.

Experience: IELTS Examinations Trainer and English Language Tutor Qualifications and Relevant Experience:

____ Studied at the London Teacher Training College, working through their Star TEFL course and achieving a Grade A Distinction for their NCFE Level 2 TEFL course. In order to achieve this, I had to complete 140 hours of work which included End of Unit Tests and a 3 Hour End of Course Exam.

____ Worked for Business Links in Lima, Peru. This is an English Language School with its main dedication being towards teaching Business English to high ranking Business Officials from Peru - I myself taught the Head of HR for Latin America at Repsol. Before undertaking any work, I underwent an extensive training program that gave me the tools required in order to successfully teach Business English but also more general English and additionally Conversation English.

____ Worked for the Pacifico University in Lima, Peru. Here I worked as an IELTS Examinations Trainer. With the responsibility for a classroom of around 20+ adult students, I was in charge of guiding and preparing them for their IELTS (International English Language Testing System) examinations in order that they could then go on to pursue dreams of working or studying in an English speaking country. Using a specific teaching framework I was able to give my students both the valuable information and advice that they required as well as regular and frequent exam condition practice during lesson time. I was also hands on and direct in answering both class and individual queries and also in providing correction and recommendations for students Writing practice questions.

____ Worked as a Private English Language Tutor in Lima, Peru, mostly improving students conversational skills in a one-to-one lesson format. I also sometimes did more unique lessons as per the students requests - for example, one student I helped with their job application to an english-speaking organization.

____ Worked as a Private English Language Tutor both Face-to-Face and Online here in the UK to students of different ages, abilities, and backgrounds. Many lessons have been IELTS focused whilst others have take the form of a Conversational English format

____ Worked for International House London, the no. 1 year-round language school as judged by British Council inspections. Within this organization my main role was as an ‘Interlocutor’ for the OET (Occupational English Test) exams that they held. The Interlocutor is the person students ‘speak’ to during their Speaking Exam - similar to in the IELTS Exams. The Occupational English Test is the English language test for healthcare professionals. It assesses the language communication skills of healthcare professionals who wish to register and practise in an English-speaking environment.

Further to my qualifications and relevant experience, I am also a member of Cambridge English Teacher, which provides ongoing training and resources to tutors.
