I have a passion for learning and teaching. My teaching skills have been developed over the course of my work at Aberystwyth since 2013.
Availability: Saturday afternoons, Sunday mornings, week day evenings after 5:30pm.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I have a doctorate in English Literature from Aberystwyth University. My specialism is contemporary British Literature but I have experience in teaching American literature post 1845, Shakespeare and Renaissance literature, World Literature and Media and Culture. I my experience is in teaching undergraduate students and therefore am best suited to tutoring GCSE candidates and above.

We have been extremely impressed with Stephanie, she is on the same footing as an academic in the subject although she does not teach formally, she is passionate about her subject without being off putting to a teenage boy and was able to engage our 16 year old son very effectively. We were very lucky to find Stephanie after our son did not do as well as expected in his mock GCSE English. Our son is at a top independent school and so is accustomed to very high standards of teaching – he formed an excellent working relationship with Stephanie through mutual respect and Stephanie’s approach of being fairly hands off whilst still managing to get him to do the work and see what he was capable of. Unfortunately now with the GCSE exams being cancelled we were not able to take the tuition to its conclusion but we hope to work with Stephanie again when our son starts English at IB, if he feels he could benefit from extra support.

Great tutor and lovely person. Allows you to choose what you want to focus on whether that be a specific text/poem or exam questions and time keeping. Very friendly and welcoming, explains everything thoroughly in a way you understand. Would definitely recommend 👍;👍;👍;
