I am a 28 year old academic historian. I have recently completed a PhD on 16th–17th century German visual culture and intellectual history at CAmbridge. As an academic researcher and teacher my interests are focussed on early modern European history with particular emphasis on art history, visual and material culture, intellectual and cultural history, and religion. My research has been published in highly prestigious academic journals and I am currently working on turning my thesis into a book. As a private tutor I have a wealth of experience tutoring and mentoring GCSE, A-level, IB, Cambridge Pre-U and university students of various academic abilities and backgrounds on diverse subjects; ranging from history, history of art, and English literature, to classical civilisation, philosophy, German, and Latin.

Availability: At the moment I have a fairly flexible schedule. As such, I am available throughout the week—including weekends.

Experience: I have experience teaching undergraduates at Cambridge, tutoring GCSE, A-level, IB, Cambridge Pre-U, as well as university students of varying abilities and backgrounds from across the globe. Although my specialisation is in history and art history, I am well-prepared to tutor on subjects such as English literature, classical civilisation, philosophy, German, and Latin.My teaching philosophy focuses on encouraging students to find genuine enthusiasm for their subject, taking time to explore their interests outside the rigid confines of exam board curricula. I am keen to make learning fun for my students, and it is of key importance for me that students come to see that their subjects have real meaning beyond the classroom. Creating an informal, student-led, and exciting learning environment is the most effective—and satisfying—means of ensuring big smiles on results day.
