I graduated from the LSE with a BSc(Econ) honours degree and worked in the Government Economic Service based in H M Treasury. This means I have real world experience that can bring detail and relevance to your work. As an experienced examiner I know how to help you achieve your best.
I am an experienced teacher of Economics and Business to undergraduate level including A-level, GCSE, BTEC and International qualifications. I have a published textbook on Mathematics for Economics and Business which has been adopted by universities including University College, Dublin.
At A-level, my results secured an ALPS score of ‘’2’ and in the top national quartile for value-added. At GCSE, my results were consistently in the top 3 subjects for progress in the school.
My support includes:
- one to one tuition including face to face and by FaceTime
- exam practice
- deep assessment (rather than just tick and flick marking) to help you improve rapidly;
- personalised support with essays, dissertations and coursework; and
- support with UCAS personal statements.
Willing to travel: 20 miles

I am so thankful to have found Simon. He helped my son with A level Economics. Jack was struggling and Simon engaged him such that Jack started to actually enjoy the subject. Simon is so knowledgable and also set a rapport with Jack that he actually contemplated taking Economics at university! With Simon’s consistent support Jack improved enough to gain his first choice uni place. I cannot recommend Simon highly enough, I only wish we found him earlier.

My son has very much enjoyed and benefitted from his sessions with Simon. Simon is enthusiastic and personable and has extensive and well prepared materials (including providing a service where you can receive a bespoke weekly bulletin with questions tailored to economics and business studies) which he uses effectively in his teaching and to help inspire confidence and understanding in his students. He pushes students to perform to their best.
