Information about Ernie
My name is Ernie. I am an Electronic and Software Systems Engineer at Jaguar Land Rover.
I have a strong academic background I graduated from Loughborough University in 2013 with a First Class MEng (hons) degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering, and have since undertaken a number of Automotive Technology MSc modules at Warwick University.
Through my studies and my work as a lead engineer at one of the UK`s leading engineering firms, I have developed excellent technical skills. My key areas of expertise are software engineering, digital electronics design, and systems engineering. Additionally, outside of work I am passionate about mobile app and game development. I am proficient in a range of programming languages including C++, C# (desktop and Unity3D), Java (desktop and Android), Python, and Objective-C/Swift (iOS).
I have also developed excellent "soft" skills and am comfortable communicating with diverse audiences. I regularly engage with board members at JLR and have been praised for my delivery of presentations to over 200 colleagues, but equally am happy chatting with students at recruitment events. If the student wishes, I can incorporate elements of communication skills, presentation preparation/delivery and project management into the lessons. These are particularly important if the student is at GCSE/A-Level as these are skills that will help them stand out to universities and future employers.
Please feel free to get in touch if you wish to discuss your requirements.
