I am a qualified Teacher of English, Drama and History. I am extremely interested in all areas of these subjects and hope to share my enthusiasm with the pupils I tutor. I understand the importance of English in everyday life and enjoy seeing pupils` confidence and enjoyment increase as their understanding of the subject develops.

I believe that the 1:1 tutor time is invaluable, in that it allows all questions to be asked and answers discovered together. It also allows for true personalisation; each student has different strengths and weaknesses and each brings their own way of learning to the session. I am extremely keen that the student participates as much as possible, as far more is learned through doing than listening. Developing these independent skills will not only help in this subject, but across the curriculum and into other areas of life. Most of all. I hope to encourage an enthusiasm for these subjects and develop students` confidence to use them.

Experience: I have worked as a teacher for 10 years, teaching pupils of all abilities. I have also tutored during all of this tine. Differentiation is key; the majority of classes have been mixed ability, meaning that personalising learning is extremely important. During my teaching, I enjoy trying new activities which allow the pupils to become independent and able to solve problems for themselves.

In terms of GCSE and A Level, I have taught both AQA and Edexcel exam specifications and enjoy the variety that these courses offer. I have taught students with a variety of learning difficulties, students who adore English and Drama as much as I do, and those who have become completely disheartened with it! In each case, there is always a way to improve and develop the vital skills that English, History and Drama offer.
