Based in East London, I am an English tutor and screenwriter with a wealth of teaching experience. Having worked in a state comprehensive school in the Forest of Dean for 4 years (promoted to second in department in 18 months), I have gone on to privately tutor a range of pupils from 11+ to PhD, with excellent results - particularly in entrance exams to Independent Schools. In 2013, I received an MA at the prestigious National Film and Television School, and have gone on to write a number of films that have received numerous awards, including a short animation that was the only UK short film in competition at the 66th Cannes Film Festival. I now combine my time writing and tutoring in London.

Experience: I worked as an English Teacher in a comprehensive school in the Forest of Dean, garnering excellent results at both Key Stage 2 (11-14) and GCSE. Following a career as an English teacher, I have been tutoring now for over twelve years and have an excellent record of helping pupils achieve and often exceed their target levels. With one-to-one sessions, the tutor has a fantastic opportunity to map-out an individualised plan of learning, and think constantly about the individual pupil`s interests, skills and ability. I like to think I bring energy, enthusiasm and knowledge to my role, and am constantly evaluating my own practice in order to improve and adapt my teaching style. It doesn`t matter whether the pupil is in Year 8 or Year 11, I always speedily acquaint myself with the scheme of work, and dovetail my sessions accordingly - always looking to bolster a pupil`s confidence and self-esteem.
