I am a Spanish and Latin American studies graduate aspiring to become a full-time tutor. I taught both Spanish to English speakers, and English to Spanish speakers when I studied in Murcia and Chile for fixed periods of time. I aim to take on students and adults who look to improve their Spanish, whether its for an exam or in preparation for a holiday.

My teaching method is thorough, through the coverage of all aspects of the language as they intertwine which makes the learning process easier and more intuitive. Like any other language, Spoken Spanish is the best way to develop your skills and understanding of the language which is why every class begins with a warm-up where we hold a conversation in Spanish and don`t worry, its not a test or evaluation! We`re simply warming up our minds with words and phrases, accents, tenses, and so forth. After that, reading and grammar exercises are a good way to stimulate the brain while taking in information in a different language, adding vocabulary to your knowledge and developing your skills all in one. Following this, listening exercises refresh the senses and can be more invigorating. The tasks will include a song, advert, or clip from a movie along with a set of questions that engage the student and challenge them to obtain information from the listening activity.

Now that the student is completely immersed in the language, its time for them to spill their thoughts on the page... but in Spanish. The tasks can be tailored to your needs since they depend on the student as mentioned earlier, they could be writing a short story, a shopping list, a holiday plan, a letter to a friend, a descri ption of their dog, anything! This is where their mind runs free with ideas and they begin to convert whole sentences into Spanish and with my guidance and encouragement they will begin to speak, read, hear and write Spanish, eloquently.

Experience: I have lived, studied and travelled in Spain and South America which gave me the opportunity to develop my speaking skills, vocabulary and knowledge of accents and dialects. Studying Spanish at university also allowed me to learn specific grammar which has been exceedingly helpful in understanding the language
