I have been working in a Sixth Form with over 600 students for the past 8 years. In that time, I have met with countless students to help them with choosing courses, universities and supporting them with the writing of their personal statement, including those applying to Oxford, Cambridge, vet medicine and medicine/dentistry (early entrants). I can support at all stages from Year 12 through to results day in the August of Year 13, including advice on clearing, choosing accommodation and finance. I have a PGCE but am a non-teaching member of staff meeting students and supporting them every day. Since April 2025, I have been studying towards a Level 6 qualification in Career Guidance and Development and this term have taken on the role of school Careers Adviser on a full time basis, principally meeting students for one to one appointments from Year 11 through to Year 13. This has therefore increased my knowledge of careers both involving university and other routes. I continue to meet with Sixth Formers every day as I run a drop in clinic every lunchtime.

Availability: I am available from 4.30pm each weekday and between 9.00am and 6.00pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Please check for availability during school holidays when I am available at additional times during the working day.

Experience: I have worked in many different industries before joining my most recent employer. I therefore have experience in the job world, with recruitment and interviewing responsibility across a wide number of sectors including property and mortgage support. My current role is in large secondary school, including a non-selective Sixth Form (minimum of five Grade 5 passes at GCSE) with students choosing courses from foundation courses at HE colleges to those applying for the most competitive universities in the country. I can advise on how to construct a personal statement suitable for the course you are applying for, showing your skills, knowledge and experience as well as including key personal details and work/hobbies. After application, I can also help with preparing for interview and making final choices on which offer to make firm and insurance, as well as getting ready to start university (housing, finance, what to pack and other advice for student and parent).
