I am a family man with two primary school age children. My wife is also a teacher and we live in Ipswich. I am passionate about languages and have tried my hand at 10 different ones over the years.

Experience: I am a fully qualified teacher (QTS) with 11 year`s experience of teaching French,and Spanish up to A-level, Italian to GCSE and German up to KS3 in Suffolk comprehensive schools. I have a full Enhanced DBS (CRB) certificate.

I have privately tutored numerous students in French and Spanish up to A-level. I have taught Italian to beginners as well has tutored English Literature. I have prepared students for the 13+ exams.

I am familiar with AQA, Edexcel and OCR exam specifications.

I have a proven track record of improving my students` predicted and actual grades over time.

I have an informal approach to tutoring. I try to adapt my lessons to strengths and weaknesses of my students. I plan lessons to cover all 4 skills: reading writing listening speaking. I make a lot of use of technology and interactive resources in my lessons.

I feel it is really important for students to have an understanding of the exam specification and therefore will often dedicate a lesson to studying this at the start. I believe that if the student truly understands the overarching scope of the course that they will be best equipped to attain the best mark.
