Information about Doug
I have 10 years experience of teaching Maths and Physics up to A-level. On top of my day to day teaching job, I have provided 1-1 online and in person tuition for the last 5 years.
I believe it`s vitally important to give clear and detailed explanations along with step by step instructions on tackling problems- this is the approach I take to my teaching. I always strive to ensure students have mastered the basic topics within Maths and Physics to make sure they have the necessary foundations to tackle more complex problems within the subject. I have 8 years experience as an examiner, I actually mark the real GCSE and A-level exams taken by candidates; I know what examiners are looking for, because I am one! I know what is required and what we are aiming to achieve.
I am approachable and friendly and try to create an environment in which students feel comfortable to ask questions and express their ideas.
I drive and am able and willing to travel (within reason and where possible) to your home for tutoring at your convenience on evenings and weekends.

Doug tutored my son for 3 months prior to his physics A-Level. He was between a B and C, requiring a B to secure his university place. My son’s experience with Doug was extremely positive, Doug’s knowledge and communication was excellent, and always gave as much time as was needed to get his points across. Ultimately my son achieved a grade A, so exceeded expectations, of which I’m in no doubt Doug played a significant part. I would not hesitate to recommend Doug.
