Information about Andrei-victor
I have just finished a Computing Master of Engineering (MEng) degree at Imperial College London, with a First Class Honours grade. My programming experience includes working as an intern for Bloomberg L.P. (5 months) and for JPMorgan (10 weeks). I am due to start as a grad software engineer at Bloomberg in autumn.
I believe in showing the beauty of Computer Science to students. I`m aware of the importance of clear explanations, breaking complex problems into smaller, easier to digest pieces. Being a student myself, I am familiar with learning difficult concepts for the first time. This is why I`m able to put myself in my pupil`s shoes, in order to come up with the most suitable way of teaching.
Availability: Weekday mornings/afternons, weekends
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: At university I worked as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant, holding tutorials for first-year students for the modules Logic, Discrete Structures, Algorithms and Reasoning about Programs.
I also worked as a tutor for CodeLab (formerly TuringLab) and FireTech Camp, teaching Python, Javascri pt, Scratch, among other technologies. The ages ranged from 10 to 14.
During my fourth year at university, I picked up a module called Communicating Computer Science in Schools, which allowed me to go to Lawdale School in Bethnal Green for one term in order to hold the Computer Science lessons for a class of year-five students. At this school, we worked with Scratch.
