I am a fully qualified teacher with specialist postgraduate qualifications in:

* Teaching basic English
* Teaching basic maths
* Assessing dyslexia and helping dyslexic people to learn

I am currently employed teaching study skills to students at De Montfort University (via Skype) and Bristol University. I am also teaching a 70-year-old to read. I have 15 years of teaching experience.

My approach is always to work with a student to establish strengths and identify the areas which need improvement. This allows teaching time to be used well.

I really love to see people gain new understanding and confidence and make progress in their learning.

Experience: 13 years of teaching experience at Leicester College, teaching basic English and maths and carrying out dyslexia assessment and support.
1 year teaching basic English for the City Council at the Adult Education College.
1 year teaching study skills to students at De Montfort University.

I have three children of my own, one of whom had a learning difficulty which made learning to read and write very difficult. He is now teaching English!
