Throughout my 10 years of teaching, I have been fortunate enough to work in a range of years across Key Stage 1 and 2 including years 2, 3, 4 and 6. In addition to being a class teacher, I have been key stage leader for upper Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 1 as well as Science co ordinator and am currently Maths Co ordinator.

Having taught across 2 key stages, I am fully aware of expectations for different year groups as well as how to make teaching and learning engaging, enjoyable and challenging in order to get the best out of children. Throughout my experience, I have taught a range of children with varying needs and abilities. As a result, I completely appreciate the importance of individual differences and how best to tailor my teaching to the children’s needs.

As I have taught in year 2 and year 6, I understand that children can find these stages particularly challenging as they prepare for their SATs. In addition to this, I have also prepared children sitting 11+ tests. Having worked in both state and independent schools, I am familiar with expectations and effective methods to help children prepare but am passionate about helping them to develop self confidence by celebrating their successes. Self belief and the openness to learn are at the foundation of progress - I always aim to instil a love of learning in order to experience it in a more positive way.

Over the last couple of years, I have been using online learning regularly and have built up a plethora of resources which are engaging and interactive which makes the time we have motivating and enjoyable. As a result, I am currently only offering online tutoring sessions as I have found it to be a more efficient way of using the short burst of time. Sessions will be taught over Google Classroom and the lessons and resources will be available after each session should the child wish to revisit. I just asked that they are not shared with others.

Availability: Weekday evenings, Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Happy to have a 10 minute consultation with parents/ guardians for free at the beginning of the first session to get an understanding of specific needs/ areas of coverage.
