I am an experienced and well qualified Science teacher with a Biological Sciences Honours degree and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education. I taught science in four different schools during my 24 year teaching career and I was also Head of Science in my last school. I taught a wide range of ages and abilities, from Year 5-13, and from those who struggled with science to those who were preparing for Oxbridge. I also worked as an examiner for GCSE Science and ‘A’ level Biology. I have an MSc from Oxford University in Teaching and Education. I am passionate about Science and enjoy seeing the difference small group work can make to both pupil confidence and understanding. Since stopping classroom teaching in July 2021, I have enjoyed tutoring both in person and online. I have taught pupils who have been home schooled, helping them gain academic knowledge and confidence to return to a classroom environment, as well as those needing extra help outside the classroom to prepare for public examinations. Outside of work I am a keen tennis player, hiker and paddle-boarder, with a passion for wildlife and the outdoors;

Experience: I have over 24 years classroom teaching experience (specialism Biology, but taught Biology, Chemistry and Physics to GCSE level). Up until July 2021 I was Head of Science at a local school. During my time in the classroom I have taught a wide range of abilities from Year 5-13. I have been an examiner for OCR and I have tutored both on line and in person to a variety of pupils. These include those that are being home-schooled as well as those needing extra help to prepare for public examinations.
