Information about Kate
I have graduated from Newcastle University, having obtained a First Class degree in English Literature. I have completed a PGCE with a literacy and ESOL specialism, for which I received a distinction. I`m a polite, approachable person and very punctual.
Availability: Week days and Week evenings
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I have privately tutored many students in English Literature and Language in the past 10 years, so have experience tutoring a range of ages. As part of my PGCE I have logged over 120 hours of teaching and have a lot of experience doing 1:1 teaching.
My approach to tutoring is to tailor the lessons and activities around the students themselves and their own interests and using this to help them achieve their goals.

Still too soon to rate son`s progress as we have only had 4 sessions. Kate is punctual, well organised and prepares thoroughly. She has identified the issues that need to be addressed and is working hard to support our son.

Kate has only had a few sessions with my 11 year son so far but she has helped him relax when he is learning , have fun and feel better about himself . Kate is happy to adapt to the childs needs and give advice on things that may help in school . I look forward to continue working with Kate to help my child with some areas he struggles with . Kate makes the whole tutoring experience very easy , is always on time and knows her stuff

My son really liked being taught by Kate. He said "he learnt more with her in two hour sessions than he had learnt in the whole of year 11 at school!" He only saw Kate for an hour a week for about 10 weeks and it made all the difference as he has passed his GCSE English Language, having been predicted to fail before having Kate as a Tutor.
