I am a fully licensed GMC-registered doctor. I have completed my first foundation year of junior doctor training at St. George`s Hospital specialising in: Intensive Care, Acute Medicine, Elderly Care Medicine, Paediatrics and General Surgery. I graduated from university with 4 distinctions and prizes for performance in medicine, surgery, psychiatry and clinical and communication skills.
I also hold a first class honours degree in neuroscience and mental health. I have always been an enthusiastic learner and, when given the opportunity, thoroughly enjoy teaching. I am currently a peer tutor at my university.
I currently hold a post at St. George`s University as a clinical skills tutor and teach medical students relevant clinical skills needed for general educational development for ward-based activities and examinations. It is a fulfilling job which I plan to continue to hold. Prior to this, I held a part-time receptionist job at Royal Trinity Hospice, where I worked for 4 and a half years. My job required excellent organisation and communication skills, which I have been constantly developing.
In addition to these key skills, mentioned above, I am a very determined individual. I like to take on challenges and pursue them through to the very end. This is particularly true for my extra-curricular hobbies which include participating in charity 10Ks, half marathons and marathons. I am also a keen cook and baker.
After successfully completing medical school, one of the main subjects which I offer for tuition is medicine. I can provide tuition for different aspects of the medical school curriculum including OSCEs, anatomy and academic performance in exams. I have been given the opportunity to examine OSCEs for healthcare students and, with my own personal experience with OSCEs, can use this skill to help improve progress.
My other main subject areas are Mathematics and Biology. However, I also offer other subjects, including Chemistry and English all of which I excelled at GCSE-level (and at A-level for Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics). Should you require any other additional subjects, please do not hesitate to contact me and we can discuss those further. I always aim to provide teaching whenever I can, and I am willing to review the curriculum.
My penultimate years as a medical student gave me the opportunity to assist the medical school application process where I played an active role in undergraduate admissions and medical student interviews. I can also offer help with obtaining a university placement, including proofreading personal statements and interview technique. This can extend to students seeking help with personal statements and UCAS applications in other subject areas and those who need help with their CV.
I am a very friendly and approachable person. Whatever the query, please feel free to contact me. I am very passionate about teaching and I will always try my best to facilitate teaching for everyone.
In terms of the teaching that I offer, when it comes to one-to-one teaching, my priority is you. I will provide an initial free 30 minute consultation session (either in person, online or over the phone) to get to know you/your child. During this consultation, I plan to discuss the curriculum and set realistic goals based on what you want to gain and what I believe we can achieve over time.
Once I have this information, I will carefully put together lesson plans which will be specifically tailored for each individual pupil. Throughout our teaching sessions I plan to identify areas requiring improvement and will adapt my lesson plans appropriately. To help make this possible are my excellent organisation and time-keeping skills, since so far I have managed to overachieve at university level with multiple part-time jobs.
To assess progress and facilitate learning, I will also be providing regular homework to be completed. I believe that practising examination technique is crucial for pupils to excel in subject areas.

Over the years, I have tutored a number of students and watched them excel at their examinations.
Before starting medical school, I was a student at Burntwood Sixth Form. During my last 2 years at Burntwood, I worked over the summer months in a summer school programme aimed at helping year 6 pupils to transition into year 7. This involved teaching core skills such as Mathematics, English and ICT.
