I have worked in Education for over 13 years including primary, secondary and adult education.

I have been private tutoring in Maths, English and Functional Skills (Maths) for 3 years. I receive very positive feedback from parents and tutees, saying that my tutoring has improved confidence and abilities, resulting in good progress made. I tutor pupils from state and private schools in addition to oversea students.

I have recently had 2 students pass their Functional Skills Level 2 Maths (April 2022).

I was informed yesterday (14/1/22) that one of my students had passed their Functional Skills Level 2 Maths. Fantastic news.

My year 11 students passed their exams (2021) achieving level 4s in their Maths and 5s in English which has allowed them to be accepted onto their chosen college course. A student from Bulgaria achieved a C grade in his IGCSE Core Maths.

I was informed last August (2020), that my two GCSE, year 11 students passed their GCSE Foundation and Higher Maths exams. One student whose school said he would not pass before I began tutoring him, has been awarded a level 4 Foundation and the other who was at Foundation level has been awarded a level 5 Higher pass. Many of my students have moved up a class and are receiving higher grades in tests.


I have a Foundation Degree in Learning Support, a Degree in Education and Training and a Graduate Certificate in Secondary Education. I trained as a Secondary Maths teacher.

I am very patient and will always find alternative ways to explain concepts to support understanding and learning. I am extremely enthusiastic about teaching and learning and love to share my knowledge with others to help them achieve their specific targets. I have a good sense of humour and am able to quickly build a good rapport with learners.

Availability: I currently have 20 online 1:1 students and 1 group of 6 students (Functional Skills Maths Level 2) ranging from 7 years to adult, who I tutor in Maths, English and other primary subjects.

I have several students with Special Educational Needs, including Autism, ADHD and Dyslexia in addition to pupils who suffer from anxiety, self esteem and confidence. I also tutor students whose first language is not English and/or live outside of the U.K.

I am flexible and will try to accommodate your preferred times around my other commitments.

Experience: I worked as a Maths and English Intervention Specialist for 5 years in primary education, which included preparing pupils for their SATS in Year 6 and after-school group and 1:1 tuition. In addition, I was employed as a Teaching Assistant within the SEND team for 2 years in secondary education, supporting primarily in Mathematics along with the rest of the curriculum . I have taught Maths in several secondary schools and provided classroom support for Adult Education Functional Skills Maths. I did have 11 face to face tutees before lockdown - both English and Maths. I have tutored students with ages ranging from 4 years to 73.

My specialism is Maths, having completed and passed 2 out of 3 phases of a teacher training (PGCE) in Secondary Mathematics in 2017 (and being awarded a Graduate Certificate in Secondary Education). I had secured a teaching post in a Portsmouth secondary school, commencing September 2017 but decided that full-time teaching within a school was not a desired option. I am also experienced and skilled in supporting the learning of Literacy, English Language and Literature and in the 2021/22 academic year took on Year 8/9 and Year 10/11 classes.
