Information about Madalena
I am an English Language and Literature graduate with a minor in Greek Language and Literature. While studying for my undergraduate degree at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, I participated in the programme of educational and pedagogical competence, becoming a qualified EFL teacher. I completed a Masters in Fantasy Literature at the University of Glasgow, where my research focused on children`s and YA literature, and animals in literature. I teach English as a foreign language, as well as English literature. Being a native Greek speaker, I am also happy to teach Greek and help with homework in both languages.
Availability: I am available every weekday after 5pm and any time during the weekend.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: In 2019 I completed an internship as an ESL teacher in the Model High School of N. Smirni. As part of my duties I designed my own activities to enhance listening, speaking, writing and reading skills and promote cultural awareness. I also designed lesson plans and taught full lessons, achieving specific learning outcomes for my students. As part of my qualification training I participated in a seminar about assessment in the ESL classroom. I have experience helping adult learners improve their language skills and understanding of literature.
