If you`re interested in learning the violin or viola I`m here to help! My name is Katie and I am a first class graduate of the Royal Academy of Music. Anyone can enjoy learning an instrument and I`d love to share the knowledge and experience I`ve picked up in my 21 years of playing. I have lots of experience working with children and have found many ways to make lessons engaging and fun. As well as working as a performing musician and teacher I have a background in childcare so my approach to teaching children is very informed.

I teach all ages and abilities.

Experience: Katie is a London based violinist/violist who enjoys a widely varied career. She is a member of the Amanzi Quartet who are Concordia Foundation artists and prize winners in the St Martins Chamber Competition. Her chamber music collaborations also include working with the Allegri Quartet, and touring Europe alongside LPO concertmaster Pieter Schoemann playing octets. As an orchestral musician Katie has partaken in the Pacific Music Festival Japan, the Aurora Fine Arts Festival Stockholm, and was a member of Southbank Sinfonia 2019. She works regularly with the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra and has performed with international soloists such as Midori Gotō;;, Maxim Vengerov and James Ehnes. Her passion for creating diverse and inventive concert experiences has seen her collaborate with artists such as James Newton Howard, Anna Meredith, Lewis Capaldi, and Indian Bollywood artist A R Rahman. Katie has managed to combine her love of travel with her profession which has allowed her to tour in India, Japan, China, Scandinavia and across Europe. She can be found performing regularly across all the major venues in London including the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Barbican Centre, and Wigmore Hall. She appears regularly on BBC radio 3 and has most recently been on the Graham Norton Show with Lewis Capaldi.
