I believe that language needs to be learned through talking, hearing, using it. Grammar is a key basic, speaking the language is what really brings your forward. So I believe a good mix is what is needed.
I have learned a few languages so have a very good understanding of the different elements of learning a language. I don`t have any official qualifications but know what learning a language is all about.
