I am an experienced and innovative English Teacher who has been tutoring and teaching in a range of state and independent schools for 10 years. As a tutor, my main focus is to empower and support students feel confident in their abilities in order to achieve their potential.

Experience: I am a dynamic and accomplished English Teacher who currently holds the role of English Teacher at an independent day school in London. Prior to this, I have upheld the roles of English and Media Teacher and Second in Department for English at a boys` grammar school in Kent, English Teacher and Head of PSHE at an independent boarding school, and other teaching and tutoring roles at additional comprehensive and international schools. I have been tutoring and teaching for 10 years.
I have been successful in motivating students from a range of cultures and backgrounds to work independently through a rewards system, which has encouraged even the most reluctant learners to continue to apply their knowledge outside of lessons. I have a proven record of success with the students I teach, forming strong bonds and promoting an enthusiasm for attaining academic excellence. My prime focus is to ensure that pupils are always sufficiently challenged in order to realise their potential, meaning demanding extension tasks and the requirement for independent learning. Using visual learning strategies to engage even the most unmotivated learners, I have proven record of encouraging a love for the subject and a desire to work independently to achieve the highest results.
I achieved my QTS at an ‘Outstanding’ level and a ‘Distinction’ for my PGCE in English from Canterbury Christ Church University. Additionally, as an experienced AQA and Eduqas examiner and trained IB teacher, I am able to use my knowledge of the GCSE and IB curriculums and examination processes to the benefit of my students, particularly those targeted the highest grades. Throughout my career, my lessons have successfully and consistently been graded ‘Outstanding’ which reflects my high standards of teaching and evidences my passion and expertise.
