Isabel

Dear student,

My name is Isabel and I come from the South of Spain, Seville, famous for its orange trees, dancing horses, flamenco guitars and long siestas in the heat of the afternoon. I studied a Higher Degree in Media in the University Hispalense of Seville, specificaly in written journalism but soon after I finished my University studies I started teaching English to children. I took then a year´s course in the Universidad Complutense of Madrid to become a Qualified Teacher ( CAP Spanish Certificate in Education, equivalent to English PGCE).

In 2003 I moved to England and I started teaching straight away. I began in Adult Learning and corporate groups in big companies and I just realised how much I enjoyed it, not only teaching the language but sharing with my students my love and passion for the Spanish culture, music and way of life.

Being the mother of two bilingual sons I know what a great gift is being able to speak two different languages and understand the world from two different perspectives and see it through two different colours.

In my free time I enjoy going back to Spain, visiting new countries and cultures and I love abstract art although I´m not good at remembering the names of the artists!

Looking forward to meeting new eager students and help them in this new and exciting adventure!

Availability: Mornings and evenings.

Experience: I run my own business called Spanish with soul, I love the freedom and flexibility this offers me.

In the last two years I have been teaching in one of the leading Home education schools in the UK based in Oxford ,and I love the opportunities that online learning offers. I teach students from all over the world.

Over my 20 years teaching experience in the UK I have taught a variety of students from all ages, levels and backgrounds including:

I´m very proud to say that over my teaching years 3 of my students have taken Spanish Studies Degree in different Universities in UK, and I would like to think I had something to do in that!
