Information about Sarah
I am a fully trained and qualified Primary Teacher working for Derbyshire County Council. I am also a mum of two. I love to get out and about in my spare time, visiting local parks and historical sites with my family.
I live in Derbyshire and can easily access parts of North Leicestershire and Staffordshire. I have worked as a TA and teacher for over 11 years now and love working with children on a one-to-one basis. I enjoy tutoring and find it very rewarding to help increase a child`s confidence and see them start to work to their full potential.
Availability: Weekends and weekday evenings after 4pm.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I began my career in education in 2005, after graduating from the University of Derby with a BEd. During my time as a qualified teacher I have worked across the board at primary level, from foundation to Y6.
With the arrival of my first daughter in 2011, I decided to reduce my teaching hours and began working as a SEN teaching assistant. I provide support to a child with special educational needs as well as working with small groups to boost academic achievements. One-to-one teaching is central to my current role and is something I truly enjoy.
My experience teaching English, Maths and Reading Skills in a primary setting is something that I utilise as a private tutor.
Out of school time I have organised an after school club for Y6 to boost performance levels in Maths and English. I have also boosted Y2 before SATs tests.
I love teaching and find it a very rewarding career.
