Head of Biology and experiences teacher of science.
I am passionate about teaching and have the emotional intelligence required in order to teach effectively. I can easily realise when a student is out of their depth or bored. My easy going and open manner makes me particularly approachable and I naturally have a high level of patience with all students.

Availability: Weekends 9am-10pm

Experience: I have Head of Department experience and currently am a lead teacher in Biology. I have plenty of experience teaching all three sciences at KS3 and GCSE. My specialism is in Biology at GCSE and A Level. I plan, teach and mark exam papers on a daily basis. I have a thorough understanding of all Science specifications from KS3 to GCSE and have access to lots of materials exclusively available to teachers. The best approach to improve student attainment is by, helping students gain a deep understanding of science, so that they don’t just memorise the facts but are aware of the scientific reasoning behind them. My students always excel in exams as I am able to explain how to apply answers to gain marks thereby improving their exam technique. Unfortunately, you can understand everything, but unless you know exactly what terminology and key terms you must include in your answers you will drop marks.
