Konnichiwa :) Would you like to become fluent in Japanese? I am Alexa, a Japanese Tutor and Language Coach from Osaka. I was born, raised, and educated in Japan until I was 20 – and I provide a series of fun, relaxed and entertaining lessons tailored specially for you! I have over eight years’ teaching experience in the UK, and I also taught in Japan, France, and the USA. Check out some of my feedback below.

My lessons are structured and prepared around your needs, often building on previous experience and then pushing forwards helping you progress quickly, build confidence and increase proficiency. I also tailor the lessons to your specific interests or requirements, whether it is learning Japanese for business, improving your conversation skills, or preparing for an exam (GCSEs, A-levels, the JLPT levels N5 to N1).

I am passionate and dedicated to my students, making sure every lesson is extremely enjoyable, using bespoke and topical content that includes a variety of media types such as videos, recordings and articles. Whatever your level, with my strong focus on speaking and listening, you will quickly gain the confidence to speak freely and easily!

I am available to teach from my home in York or on Skype, seven days a week from 8am to 10pm. The first lesson is always free and includes a 30-minute assessment, within which we identify your current level, establish your aspirations, and setup a bespoke teaching structure developed specifically for you and your schedule.

Learning a language properly from scratch was something I always wanted to do but I was really nervous about taking a class, especially a one-to-one lesson.
