I am a very experienced teacher of Religious Studies at all levels and across three out of the four main examination boards (OCR, Edexcel/Pearson & Eduqas/WJEC). In addition, I have examined at GCSE level for a number of years.
Having also been an Assistant Head responsible for teaching and learning, I have ensured that I have kept up-to-date with the very latest methods for enabling students to fulfill their potential, whatever their ability.
On the occasions when my lessons have been inspected by Ofsted (or the equivalent) I have received `outstanding` grades for my teaching of both A level and GCSE in different educational settings.
In the most recent examinations my students attained 100% A* and A grades, and their overall average grades since the introduction of the new and more challenging specifications has been 90% A* - B.
I take a great deal of care to prepare or update resources so that they are current, including engaging ICT material and interactive components that assist students with the challenging evaluative components of the more recent examination papers.
Students often comment that they enjoy their sessions with me, as I use a balance between humour and challenge so that the more complicated parts of the specification can be approached with realism but without fear.
In addition, I include examination question practice and detailed feedback/assessment as part of my service, thus refining technique and improving grades.

Experience: I have worked as a Head of Religious Studies in a range of very good schools, whilst ensuring that my experience has included a number of mixed ability settings in order to improve my pedagogical technique.
Formerly I was responsible for the agreed Religious Studies specification in Devon and I have examined for the Edexcel/Pearson board as well as Eduqas/WJEC.
My technique has always been to assess exactly where a student `is at` and to then ensure that I build their confidence by refining a range of resources to suit their particular learning needs.
