I have just completed a four-year PhD History scholarship at Birkbeck, University of London, where I also work as an Associate Tutor.

I have experience of helping students with a broad range of abilities to succeed academically at different levels through steadily improving their historical reading, research and writing. My specialisms include modern and contemporary history, and essay and dissertation structure and technique.

I also previously qualified and worked for many years as a print journalist, and have a deep interest in media, language and communication.

I have a friendly, patient and professional manner, and a dynamic and encouraging approach to learning.

I live in London with my wife and young daughter.
