Information about Agnetha
Cambridge Maths Graduate (2:1) - Qualified teacher - offering tuition in KS2 SATS Prep, KS3, GCSE, AS/A Level Maths and Further Maths.
I am a Cambridge Graduate in Mathematics with Education Studies.
I am an experienced, qualified teacher with a PGCE in Secondary Mathematics, and am now a full-time tutor specialising in KS3, GCSE and A Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics.
In my experience the benefits of one-to-one tuition are incomparable. When teaching a student I am able to tailor the teaching to address their specific questions and misconceptions, whilst covering topics at a far greater depth and speed than is possible in a class of 30.
By far the biggest benefit of tuition I have seen in my students is a vast increase in their confidence to use mathematics effectively, and to see them realise and believe that they can understand the subject, and are fully capable of achieving high grades.
I like to promote a relaxed atmosphere as many students I have tutored have found Maths quite stressful to study.
My tuition sessions are bespoke and are structured around the needs of the student. Throughout my teaching I place an emphasis on understanding why particular methods are used and how topics within maths link together. I also ensure students are exposed to a wide variety of questions styles from across exam boards to develop their ability to apply these maths skills to unfamiliar styles of question. Above all, I aim to raise the confidence and expectations of my students and to see them enjoy learning maths.
During the first introductory session I will make an assessment of your mathematical ability and discuss what you wish to achieve e.g. a certain grade/better understanding of a particular area, or develop exam technique. I will then use this information to create an individual learning plan and tailor my tuition accordingly as we work together to help you achieve your goal.
For those who purchase my details from TutorHunt I offer a reduced fee for the first lesson.
Online tuition is via Zoom, and payment is accepted by bank transfer.
Currently I have no availability for face-to-face lessons.
Availability: Currently only I am offering online lessons only.
I have limited availability Monday to Friday daytime, and on Saturday afternoons. I also have one after school session available on Mondays and Fridays.
Willing to travel: 15 miles
Experience: Having initially taught in secondary schools, I have been tutoring full time for the last 8 years. I have maintained an up to date knowledge of all changes to syllabi; in particular the new Maths GCSE, iGCSE and A Level specifications across Edexcel, AQA, OCR exam boards. I am also an examiner and now team leader with Edexcel exam board.
I have also provided tutition for 11+ entrance exams, KS2 SATS preparation, first year university students and worked with adult learners in preparation for QTS Numeracy Skills Tests, professional & work-related maths tests and numeracy tests (level 1 and level 2).
