I am an English tutor with a passion for my subject. When tutoring, I take a learner-centred approach, identifying needs, and basing my teaching on a clear understanding of how to help individuals make progress that meets, or exceeds, their expectations. I have a long track record of assisting students in fulfilling their potential. I believe in people, and I know that with the right kind of tutor input, anybody can make progress.

Availability: I am available on most weekday evenings apart from Monday.

Experience: I have twenty years experience of teaching in both primary and secondary schools, and during this time have tutored many students too. I have helped primary-aged pupils to success in KS2 SATS, and much of my career has been devoted to teaching English at KS3, GCSE and A`level. I am also a qualified ESOL teacher with recent experience of teaching refugees.

I have a clear understanding of how English works. This is based on my experience in working with thousands of students, but I also draw from my first class English Literature degree, my MA in English Language, and my qualification in teaching English to non-native speakers.

In addition to this, I marked KS3 SATS for several years, and am currently a GCSE examiner in both English Language and English Literature.
