I find tutoring maths incredibly rewarding. I love seeing students develop their maths confidence, develop their self belief and overcome the anxieties they have felt about maths lessons and exams. I value building a rapport with students, so that they learn to take risks with their mathematical thinking, ask for help where its needed and see their mistakes as just a part of the journey to understanding concepts thoroughly.
I believe that building their maths confidence has more benefits than simply greater maths attainment. When students believe in themselves in maths then this has a positive impact on other areas of their education and ultimately influences their future achievements.
