Hi! My name is Anjani, I am a second year dental student at Queen Mary University of London. I have tutored professionally for more than four years. Being a tutor will allow me to help every child to have the opportunity to succeed at school and look forward to a prosperous future ahead of them, even if they struggle at first. The subjects I specialise in are maths, chemistry and biology and am also happy to help with university applications (ucat, personal statements, interviews etc).

Experience: I have been volunteering at a homework help club at my school for since January 2019. It has given me the chance to help pupils in years 7 and 8 who find it difficult to concentrate at home. It has taught me how to present myself in more approachable ways and it has helped me discover how to generate and tailor new methods of explaining something, depending on the pupil. After seeing how I could impact a child`s opinion on a subject, their grades at school, and even boost their self-confidence, I started to really enjoy tutoring. Being a tutor (teaching maths, English and phonics) at [contact detail removed] since October 2020, has provided me with valuable social, communication and listening skills. My students are aged 4 to 14, and whether they are finding school difficult, or at the top of the class, I adapt my learning environments to help them achieve their goals to become fearless learners. The lessons are composed of leading and guiding students through the curriculum, and managing children of different abilities, whether it is a group lesson or a 1 to 1 class. I have hosted SATS and 11+ training workshops, which has demonstrated my leadership skills as well as organisational and presenting abilities. Due to Covid-19, we have had to move all classes online, which started off as a challenge, but pushed me to develop different methods of approaching my students. This hurdle has taught me skills, such as adapting swiftly to change and becoming a critical thinker, I can use not only with tutoring, but carry along with me in the course of this role. I have been with tutor hunt for nearly 4 years now, and I have gained lots of experience in liaising with parents and students to really push them to achieve the highest grades they can!
