Information about Michael
The importance of teaching has always been innate in me, especially after graduating from Cambridge with a degree in Mathematics. At A Level Maths I achieved 100% in 11 modules and above 90% in 7 more. Allowing others to develop their skills and passions just like I have is one of the main reasons I went into tutoring. This love of maths combined with the pride I feel for making the topic interesting and accessible to others is an invaluable part of learning.
The ultimate goal is to ensure understanding, interest and success in their up coming exams. I like to get to know the student and understand where they are struggling so I can tailor my teaching style and work towards building their confidence on that particular subject. For some, our focus is on explaining concepts in detail and going over topic specific questions that they are having trouble with, for others I see the importance in focussing on past papers. I like to go through papers with students to see how they could improve, explain the marking structure and generally assess their progress.
I offer tuition in all A Level exam boards and modules.
Availability: I am available all day Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and Saturday and Sunday morning and afternoon.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: At the age of 16, I began tutoring my peers in maths and physics and was able to help them achieve their goals. This continued throughout university whilst attaining my degree in Mathematics. From these small beginnings I have now been able to guide and support more than 50 students to also accomplish their ambitions, whether that be improving from a grade D to a B at GCSE, getting into universities such as LSE, Imperial & UCL or preparing for final exams at university. I love this style of one on one teaching, at this point I have now been doing this for over a decade and professionally for eight years and I will continue to do so for many years to come.
