My name is Alexandra and I am an English teacher living in Edinburgh.

In 2013 I graduated from the University of Buckingham with First Class Honours, gaining a degree in English Studies for Teaching.

I am approachable and I have a passion for teaching and adapting my style based on the student`s learner profile - we are all different and therefore all learn in different ways. I believe in using creative methods to engage learners that might be struggling in the classroom, and I also have a positive track record of regularly communicating with parents and the student`s class teacher if necessary.

Availability: I am currently available at the following times (though this may vary depending on workload) -

Mondays 3pm - 6pm
Tuesdays 4pm - 7pm
Wednesdays 4pm - 7pm
Thursdays 3pm - 6pm
Fridays 2pm - 4pm
Saturday and Sunday mornings

Later weeknight appointments available on request.

Willing to travel: 5 miles

Experience: I gained my PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education) in 2016 and have been teaching English full time since September 2015. I completed the Teach First training programme which means that I have received exemplary training and I am part of a large network of teachers who regularly share strategies and resources. In addition, I have been tutoring on a 1-to-1 basis since early 2016 and have had positive experiences with several students at different stages of secondary education.
