Yvonne

My name is Yvonne and I am an experienced teacher and tutor. I have a great deal of experience working with students who might be struggling to achieve their potential. I have a passion for teaching and I love the moment when my students become as excited as I am about their learning. I am extremely patient with a belief that one size does not fit all. Instead I teach in a variety of ways, moulding my lessons to the needs of the individual to ensure they learn, develop and succeed at their own speed and with increasing confidence in their own abilities.

Availability: Evenings and some daytimes.

Experience: I am a teacher with over 25 years experience of teaching in SEN, primary, secondary and FE. I started as a secondary language teacher and taught in secondary schools for 10 years. The next 10 years were spent teaching both in primary and in an FE college where I taught English and maths. I then taught in a school for students who have a variety of Special Educational Needs where I taught maths & English to GCSE level and Italian A level. I now work as an Outreach teacher, working with SEN students.
I have been teaching for the 11 plus examination for the past 12 years. I teach both one to one and small groups.
I have also worked for an exam board for the past 14 years as an examiner for Key Stage 2 English SATS, GCSE and A level English and Italian.
