Information about Charlotte
I am a very committed and energetic practising artist specialising in oil painting but have a vast knowledge of acrylic, mixed media and most mediums. I am a wildlife and pet portrait artist and love bright bold colours in my work. I find it difficult to get through the day without sketching ideas I have or painting something quickly.
I studied art at GCSE, A Level and I graduated from the University for The Creative Arts, Farnham with a 2:1 degree in Fine Art.
I understand that everyone learns in a different way and will tailor my approach to suit the individual with their art practically as well as offer art theoretical help. I believe everyone is an artist and everything creative requires practice and motivation to improve. The best way to improve your drawing/painting is by examining the world around us and really looking at the subject rather than drawing/painting what we think we see - art is 90% observing, 10% drawing/painting - this is a belief I teach all my students.
I am also able to help students with art-focused personal statements, portfolio selections as well as obtaining art scholarships.
I won Surrey Wildlife Trust`s `Wild Surrey` art competition in May 2019.
Availability: I currently have limited availability but will always try to be as flexible as I can.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I am a very experienced tutor, tutoring students from 5 years old to 75 years old+ and have helped obtain an art scholarships 11+ and 13+ for many students. One of my students has won a National Art Competition and I also have students who have been shortlisted for a regional competition and they had their work exhibited.
I currently teach 25 students across Surrey and Hampshire each week.
I have previously worked at a college as their art technician installing work and assisting AS and A Level students with their work.
