I am a senior Latin and Greek tutor, OCR and CIE A-Level examiner, and published academic with over 30 years’ experience. I currently teach at a London college and have written more than 40 books, including Latin readers and exam-focused commentaries.

My students have won scholarships and academic awards at 11+, 13+, and 16+ entry to Eton, Westminster, Winchester, Harrow, and other elite schools. I specialise in Common Entrance and scholarship preparation, as well as GCSE, A-Level, and Oxbridge entry support.

I offer high-quality online tuition to students in the UK and internationally. My lessons are rigorous, calm, and tailored to each student’s goals and level.

Availability: I work with students across time zones including the UK, Europe, North America, and Asia. Due to high demand, I recommend early contact to discuss scheduling. I accommodate families as best I can, but I often reach full capacity. I offer a free initial consultation to assess your goals and advise on a suitable programme of study.

Experience: I teach Latin and Greek from beginner to advanced level, with particular expertise in Common Entrance and scholarship exams such as the Eton King’s Scholarship and Westminster Challenge. My two main goals are:

To develop exam technique using past papers, model answers, and detailed walkthroughs

To build language mastery, focusing on grammar, vocabulary, and translation fluency

I also guide students through ancient literature, history, and myth—skills that enrich their education and support university applications.
