I am a confident and articulate language student at [contact detail removed], in the second year of my degree in French and Spanish. Despite the chaos Covid-19 brought to my final year of A-Level study, I was awarded four A grades and one A* grade for my hard work. Having completed my first year of study at university, I was awarded a combination of firsts and 2-1 grades across my modules. I am passionate about and dedicated to the importance of people’s ability to communicate effectively having decided my career path when I was 14. My intention is that I will become a teacher of French and Spanish at secondary or higher education level. Communication at all levels is a strength of mine, with the ability to motivate and empathise simultaneously. Having sat the new format of GCSE’s in 2018 achieving the highest grade 9 in Spanish and grade 8 (missing 9 by 1 mark) in French, I am ideally placed with relevant experience to tutor GCSE students with insight and strategy to improve their understanding, their ability, and ultimately their exam grades.
Aside from languages, I am motivated by seeing others improve and succeed. In a world where so often the default is to sneer and mock, my happiness comes from encouraging and inspiring people.
I have a library of resources to enable my students to expand and improve across all areas of the exam: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. I use the student’s classwork and completed mock exams in order to assess the student’s ability and areas for focus. Throughout sessions, we will complete exercises and practice questions, building up exam techniques and advancing the student’s knowledge. Where appropriate I will challenge a student to push towards higher grades, using extended tenses and vocabulary in Speaking and Writing practice. I like to make sessions both fun and focused for the student, allowing a less tense environment than a classroom, whilst giving memorable methods to learn the content. I do give homework to the student, however this will be a manageable amount of work based off what we cover in sessions, as I am aware schools have a tendency to give lots of homework!
I have availability to tutor in person and online daytimes or evenings. For one to one tuition I can cover postcodes ME4, ME5, ME7, ME8, ME9 and ME10. My session rates are detailed in enquiries and bookings.

Experience: As Head Girl of Rainham Mark Grammar School, one of the leading secondary schools in North Kent, I have had the privilege and opportunity to:
• Set up a French club and teach years 7-9 students beginners French through fun learning activities
• Volunteer at a local primary school helping year 1 students improve their phonics, reading and comprehension skills, as well as working with children with special educational needs
• Whilst preparing for my year 12 exams, I tutored a neighbour in person in GCSE French: over 10 sessions improving her from a predicted grade 2 to final grade 5 result
• Whilst preparing for my own exams, tutored a friend online in GCSE Spanish, with a focus on spoken and written work, improving him from a predicted grade 5 to a final grade 7 result.
