As well as having a real passion for English I am very personable and have found that my ability to communicate well with students has been key to their enjoyment of my lessons and their ultimate achievements.

I enjoy creating interesting and imaginative lessons to motivate students and support them in gaining the skills and confidence that they need to achieve their potential in English at GCSE and A Level.

Within my lessons, as well as specified content, I like to select articles, novels, written extracts and poems that will appeal to individual students. In addition I use a variety of strategies to enable my students to develop their ability and their enjoyment of the subject.

Availability: I am available most evenings and weekends. Depending on location I may be able to do some weekday daytime slots.

Experience: I am an experienced tutor and qualified teacher and have been teaching English at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 in a Peterborough Secondary school for the last 11 years.

I am also an AQA examiner and fulfil marking contracts for both A level and GCSE English. This is particularly helpful for supporting students with the newest examination specifications.
