Do you know someone who needs a little boost in A Level Maths?

Maths has to be one of the most rewarding subjects to study at A Level, but the step-up from GCSE can be a huge knock to a student`s confidence. Everyone needs a little extra help from time-to-time, and in Maths this can mean filling in gaps from GCSE, being supported through a particularly tricky topic, or coaching for the exams at the end.

I provide support for students working towards AS and A Level Maths, for all exam boards. This is in the form of tutoring, coaching, mentoring and study skills advice.

Our sessions should be all about you! Every student is different, a good teacher works to find out your skills, needs and aims and builds from there. The aim of the sessions can vary as time goes on but typically might include

- pre-learning topics to boost confidence when they come up in class
- working on areas identified in your class tests as needing a little more practise
- supporting you with homework

All sessions are online to fit easily around your schedule, although face-to-face tutoring will be considered.

Experience: Since achieving a PhD in mathematics at Durham University, I have gained 13 years of experience teaching in and managing mathematics departments in inclusive, diverse schools and sixth form colleges all rated Ofsted Outstanding. I have taught students who have progressed to Oxbridge, as well as students who have studied Maths alongside vocational qualifications who have progressed to university, apprenticeships and employment.

I now work as a consultant within Higher Education, supporting STEM educators and their students around making the leap from studying at one level to the next. Having led a team to develop innovative teaching, support and coaching online, I am now available to offer this support directly to students through private tuition.
