Experience: Chemistry is truly a subject I am passionate about!
I achieved first class honours in MSci Chemistry with Industrial Experience from the University of Bristol, and went on to complete a PhD in Ocean and Earth Science at the National Oceanography Centre (University of Southampton).
During my PhD, I taught undergraduate modules in the classroom, in labs, and on boats! This varied from revision sessions on calculations, to understanding river-sea water mixing processes by physically taking samples.
I was a STEM Ambassador during this time, encouraging GCSE students to pursue science subjects by exploring the range of careers there are that need science. I also ran the Eco Schools programme at the National Oceanography Centre for local primary school children, to help them understand what climate change and carbon footprints are, and some solutions available in our everyday lives.
