Welcome to English with Emma. I am a trained, qualified and experienced Secondary and A Level Teacher of English and GCSE Examiner for UK exam boards, with 10 years teaching experience working in London secondary schools, and fifteen years experience tutoring English at KS1, KS2, KS3, KS4 and KS5, in addition to over 5 years experience creating and running bespoke English courses for third party companies for GCSE and A Level exam success. In addition to this, I am also CELTA qualified to teach English as additional language. I love reading novels and I write poetry, prose and performance poetry. I teach English with passion and am committed to the empowerment, progress and success of my students. I am fully CRB checked annually and have additional references available upon request.

Availability: I am available for tuition during the mornings, afternoons and evenings, weekdays and Saturdays (present commitments permitting). I am available for classes, small groups, and one-to-one, face-to-face and online. I also offer short stays for EFL students who wish to be immersed in the English language.

Experience: I have over 10 years tutoring experience at all Key stages, I have qualified teacher status as a Secondary Level Teacher of English (11-18yrs) with 9 years classroom experience in London schools with a track record of outstanding teaching practice that spans this time. Further to this, I am an approved and practising examiner for UK GCSE exam boards and have been composing and running highly successful bespoke GCSE revision courses for third party companies for 5 years. I have taught AQA, OCR, EdExcel and WJEC exam boards at GCSE and A Level and have experience tutoring the International Baccalaureate Diploma. I have a track record of consistent high-quality practice and outcomes at all taught levels. I have a Bachelors and Masters degree in English from Goldsmiths, University of London. I am CELTA qualified to teach English as an additional language and am currently setting up my own educational services and resources business specialising in English as an academic subject and language.
