I am a fully qualified friendly and positive tutor, who specialises in working with students to build their self confidence in Science/Biology, students who struggle with engagement, as well as students who want to aim higher and move up to the next grade. My tutoring style focuses on assessing the areas that students need to develop and any areas of difficulty, and then ensuring there is a deep and solid understanding of the content. Once this is established, we can look at applying knowledge and understanding to unfamiliar contexts and exam style questions. In the first session, I will provide you with a folder to keep your work in and we will complete a learning profile together, so we can come up with a personalised learning plan, which will map out what we will cover and how we will achieve the outcome that you are aiming for.

Experience: I have worked in three comprehensive schools over the last 9 years. At the first I taught all three sciences at GCSE. I then became a Deputy Head of Science and GCSE Science Coordinator, where I began teaching A Level Biology. I finally moved to the school I currently teach at to become Head of Biology and KS3 Science Coordinator. I have taught a huge range of abilities over the years and I have taught the full secondary age range, from Year 7 up to Year 13. My specialism is Biology and I offer tutoring for GCSE Triple Biology and A Level. However, I can also offer GCSE Combined Science tutoring too.
