I am a full-time tutor focused on Maths (GCSE to A-Level), Economics (A-Level and Degree), Statistics, Science (GCSE) and 11+ admissions, covering all the major exam boards (AQA/Edexcel/Edexcel International). With a 10+ year career as an Investment Banker and Tech Leader and a 1st Class Degree in Economics from Durham, I bring a unique skill set for helping any student achieve their academic of professional goals.

Student: I have a 1st Class Degree in Economics from Durham University. At school, I was top set at a leading independent school for all 7 years and achieved A*A*AA (Economics, Further Maths, Maths, Physics) at A-Level, A (Chemistry) at AS-Level and straight A*s in GCSEs incl. one which was top 5 scores in UK. Historically, I have provided exemplar material to AQA for A-Level Economics; used by teachers in countries across the UK to model their students’ essays.

Professional Career: I have spent 10+ years working and being quickly promoted in highly competitive fields working as an investment banker (M&A) and a senior leader in Tech. I now also invest in property utilising my finance / commercial skills. From my career, I have hundreds of hours experience mentoring and coaching professionals in Investment Banking (M&A) and Tech to improve their core skills and offer them career advice.

Tutor: 100+ hours tutoring A-Level & GCSE Economics and Maths, Chess, many years of L&D experience as a manager and leader in Tech.

Tutoring Approach:
1. Personalized Learning Plan: Develop learning plan personalized to student’s areas of improvement based on data. I analyse mock exam data / homework to develop a learning plan, starting with the areas of improvement with highest grade weightings; with the intention to deliver the best possible return on investment to the parent / student.
2. Master the Academic Subject: My ambition is for any student not only to get the answer correct but to see the solution in multiple ways, and then teach the solution to me as the true test of understanding.
3. 2+ Grade Improvement via Exam Technique: My experience is that students are focused on what to learn (the content) and not how to perform well in the exams. I integrate exam technique from lesson 1, focusing on securing as many marks as possible through understanding the mark scheme.
4. Bring patience and collaboration to lessons: Taking public exams can be challenging for students. I will tailor my approach to suit each student, but I will always bring patience and collaboration to lessons to help students’ confidence and achieve the best grades possible.
5. Provide monthly updates to parents, so that they remain updated and involved in the tutoring process if needed.

Availability: Available anytime in daytime/evenings in weekdays and weekends – I will try to be flexible to accommodate availability in my schedule for new students, particularly during exam seasons.
