Qualified Science teacher currently teaching general science and Physics from Year 7 to A-Level at an independent school in Hertfordshire. Masters and Bachelor Degree educated and studied all three sciences to A-Level.
Completed a Masters in Science in 2017 - education and science communication focus.
Enthusiastic about Science and Science communication - I like to concentrate on key concepts: identifying common misconceptions and helping students overcome these barriers to progress. Combined with a focussed approach on how to tackle specific questions - I find this effective at driving positive progress with students.
Availability: Evenings and weekends (daytime during the week possible in school holidays)

Experience: 5 years Science teaching experience. 12 years as a Tutor focussing on primarily GCSE general science. Mentored new staff in their qualifying year to achieve Qualified Teacher Status - innovative teaching and learning approaches.
All sciences studied to A-level, biology (Human Genetics) to degree level.

Established triple science course for students in previous school - 100% A-C (old GCSE grade system) for intakes.

Colin is an excellent tutor. He has a kind and gentle approach and makes things, which have seemed difficult to my daughter before, seem, easy
