I am a qualified teacher who has had leadership responsibility in school throughout the whole of my career. I am currently a youth worker in east kent but have recently been the Head of a Social Science Faculty, managing a number of subjects (Business Studies, Health and Social Care, Religion, Philosophy and Ethics, Sociology and Psychology). I am an extremely conscientious, dedicated and friendly individual who desires to ensure all those young people I work with get the very best results. I have an undergraduate Theology degree, a PGCE and a post graduate diploma in Education.

My tutoring approach is to be adaptive to the needs and requirements of the individuals that I am tutoring. My experience as a teacher across five different academic subjects has taught me that each student must have a personalized approach to unlock their potential. For some students, this may be building up their confidence for others, it might be pushing them to challenge their academic achievement.

Through conversations with the individual tutee, I can determine what method of tutoring would be best suited to their needs as well helping to further challenge what they believe they can achieve.

I firmly believe that with my professional and down to earth personality, I can meet any students’ needs and am able and willing to use a variety of tutoring styles to ensure that the tutoring is not only effective but engaging.

Availability: I am available to tutor weekday evenings and Saturdays.

Experience: I am a qualified teacher with 7 years teaching experience. Under my leadership, I turned around a failing Philosophy, Religion and Ethics department to ensure the consistently best result, such as results of 100% A*-B, 89 A*-A at GCSE (112 pupils) and 100% A-E at A Level. I have also mentored students to motivate themselves in various other subjects such as Psychology and Sociology.
