Hi there!

I`ve enjoyed nearly 20 years of teaching experience, working in a variety of roles from being class teacher in London, to my most recent job as Head of Primary Music in a leading UK school in Asia. Working mostly with primary aged learners, I`ve also taught singing, piano, guitar, ukulele, trombone, trumpet, and songwriting to teenagers and adults. I have a background in professional cathedral choirs, but enjoy a wide range of music from Bach to the Beatles and Mozart to Metallica!

Although most of my career has focussed on music, I also enjoy tutoring core subjects like English and Maths, and find fresh ways to tackle areas for development. I pride myself on being a fun, dynamic, and approachable teacher, and really value the communication between teacher and learner. Let`s go!

I have a growth mindset and have enjoy developing myself with new challenges, such as taking up the guitar later in life and achieving a Distinction for Grade 4 Rockschool. Professionally there have been several highlights in my career, such a conducting a 300 strong choir and orchestra for `Carmina Burana` and leading various music festivals, but I also derive a great deal of satisfaction from introducing concepts and embedding key skills with young learners. Building up a student`s confidence in getting them to perform can be challenge enough for some, and I love going on that journey of exploration and learning every day.
