Information about George
My name is George and I am currently a 30 year doctor who studied medicine at Cambridge University and Guys, Kings and St Thomas hospitals in London. I am a specialty registrar in diagnostic neuropathology based at Salford Royal Hospital. At school, I achieved 10A* at GCSE level then went on to gain 4 A* grades at A2 level in Biology (596/600 UMS), Chemistry, Physics (600/600) and Maths. I studied pre-clinical medicine at Cambridge University [achieving a 2:1 in Natural Sciences (physiology)]. Following this I transferred to Kings College London to complete the final 3 years of my clinical training where I achieved a distinction (top 10% of year) for my performance in the final MBBS examinations. I then completed my junior doctor general foundation programme at Aintree University Hospital in Liverpool. I have also published several peer reviewed articles, presented at national/international conferences and was recently awarded a national prize. I have several extra-curricular interests, including captaining the University of Cambridge squash team and receiving a `Full Blue`.
I have a passion for teaching and I have successfully tutored many tutees in London, Liverpool, Bristol and Cheltenham. I am familiar with and can teach all exam boards and have an up to date and concise set of teaching material (including notes, vast set of past paper questions, mark schemes) which is well-suited for teaching in the one-to-one setting. I have also compiled some of my own model essay plans for those tutees who sit boards with an essay component.
I believe that a comprehensive understanding of the core material is critical to succeed in science and thus I prioritise this during my teaching. Once I am confident the tutee has understood the material I will then move onto applying what they have learnt to the past paper question bank that I have - this is essential to ensuring a strong exam mark. Whilst I am a firm believer in largely teaching only examinable material that is on the syllabus, I have the knowledge to take the student above and beyond the A level specification should this be their wish. I am also happy to provide tutees with advice on medical school applications such as helping with their personal statement, interview technique and Oxbridge applications.
Availability: Weekday evenings (flexible), I am based in Altrincham.
Willing to travel: 2 miles
Experience: I have 10 years teaching teaching experience for both GCSE and A level candidates from my local area and have received extremely positive feedback and results from both parents and tutees with many of my tutees getting the grades they need to go to university including medical school.

George has been an excellent tutor. He always well prepared himself before every session, he`s tutorship is sincere, concise, clear and constructive. In additional to the excellent subject tutoring, he also offers university advices and interviewing practices. In many occasions I had to change my tutoring schedule and George adjusted his very busy timetable to accommodate my needs. He always make sure I was progressing in every aspect. As a result, I have achieved excellent result and entered the medical school I wanted.

George is a great Biology tutor. He helped my twin daughters to achieve A* with very high UMS score, in their Biology exams. My daughters enjoyed their Biology lessons. George has excellent knowledge and experience to explain difficult concepts and provides plenty of resources. He made the lessons fun and interesting. He is punctual and reliable. My twins highly recommend George to anyone.
